We have been working with disabled people across the North East to explore their experiences of looking for work, staying in work, and accessing support. People told us about the barriers they faced and what would make employment more accessible.

Personas
The six personas below are based on patterns identified through conversations with disabled people.
Each persona represents a different set of barriers that people may experience. They can be used in team meetings, training, workshops and discussions about inclusive employment.

This guide is designed for employers who want to make work more accessible.
It shares practical examples of inclusive employment and questions to help organisations reflect on their recruitment, workplace practices and organisational culture.

This workbook can be used alongside the personas to support discussion and reflection.
It includes learning outcomes, discussion questions, practical exercises and workshop activities that can be used in team meetings, training sessions and organisational reviews.
